See what was done to 2 women caught stealing from a clothes shop
The managers of the shop painted the shoplifters with yellow paint. However, Zambian human rights commission are investigating why the managers of the clothes shop decide to put law into their hands. The commission interviewed the store manager in the capital, Lusaka, who admitted that they were painted, saying they consented to it in place of being fined or taken to the police.
The incident which happened in 2015, got the attention of the commission after the photos were shared on social media few weeks ago. The human rights commission’s Mweelwa Muleya said: “There is no crime that justifies torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.”
